Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 RFT review
What is it?
The Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 RFT snow/winter tire was engineered for use on the Mini Cooper, Mazda MX-5 and Lexus IS coupe and convertible models, as well as for BMW X5 and BMW X6. (May also fit other makes and models.)
This is the run flat version of the more popular and established Blizzak LM-60.

Strengths and weaknesses?
The Blizzak LM-60 delivers top tier snow and winter condition performance that is synonymous with the Blizzak line, and you can expect the same of the Blizzak LM-60 RFT.
However, as with the Blizzak LM-60, expect wet traction to lag behind the snow traction, and dry condition capability to be lacking as compared to the upper echelon competition in the performance winter/snow category.
May be an increase in road noise with the run flat version, and the Blizzak LM-60 was already one of the more noisy tires in the category.
How does the Blizzak LM-60 RFT compare?
In testing the Blizzak LM-60 placed first out of four tires when it came to snow traction and handling. It also turned in the second best acceleration and stopping figures on ice.
However, testers found the tire compromised when it came to dry and wet condition performance, and it received demerits for not being particularly well-rounded.
User feedback also indicates that the Blizzak LM-60 has below average cornering stability and dry traction for the category.
Blizzak LM-60 RFT characteristics should be in step with all of the above.
Anything else to know?
You can't question the Blizzak LM-60 RFT's winter performance, and its almost singular winter focus, but there are more well-rounded options available that don't compromise quite as much in the other areas. The Blizzak LM-60 RFT expects a blizzard everyday. If you do as well, and you want run flat convenience and security, then the Blizzak LM-60 RFT might be your choice.
If you can forego run-flat technology, definitely consider the excellent Michelin X-Ice Xi3 and Continental WinterContact SI.
Install in sets of four only, or you'll be dealing with a potentially hazardous handling imbalance.
