Continental ContiProContact ContiSeal review
What is it?
The Continental ContiProContact ContiSeal is a grand touring all season tire designed for sporty coupes and sedans. The ContiProContact ContiSeal aims to provide good year-round traction with a civilized ride, and run flat security/convenience.
Used as the original equipment tire for the Volkswagen CC.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Average year-round traction and decent treadlife.
The ContiProContact ContiSeal seems to be afflicted with the issue common to early generation run flats: High road noise.
How does it compare?
Direct comparison data is lacking, but it's unlikely the ContiProContact ContiSeal can keep pace with the current grand touring all season category leaders from Pirelli, Michelin, and Bridgestone. Within this tire category civility and comfort characteristics are a high priority, and the ContiProContact reportedly underdelivers in this regard.
- Treadlife Warranty: 6 years, 80,000 miles (S- & T-Speed rated). 6 years, 60,000 miles (H-Speed rated), 40,000 miles (V-Speed rated). Half mileage stipulations for staggered tire setups
- Uniformity Warranty: 1 year, first 2/32" of wear
Anything else to know?
Limited sizes due to intended OE application.
The ContiProContact ContiSeal is quite costly. A notable cost premium over category leaders like the Bridgestone Driveguard (also with run flat technology). We'd suggest exploring options when it comes time to replace.
