Continental ContiTrac TR review
What is it?
The Continental ContiTrac TR highway all season tire is designed for trucks, SUV's, crossovers and vans. The ContiTrac TR served as the original equipment tire for certain model year Ford F250 and F350 trucks.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Generally speaking, the ContiTrac highway all season line is sub-par. The original Continental ContiTrac is well off the pace of current highway all season category leaders, and the ContiTrac SUV is of the same vein.
So as would be expected given the track record of the aforementioned ContiTracs, F250 and F350 owners who received the ContiTrac TR as their OE tire are largely an underwhelmed bunch.
How does it compare?
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: 1 year, first 2/32" of wear
Anything else to know?
Limited 17" and 18" sizes available due to the intended OE application.
As with the ContiTrac SUV, structural integrity problems have been reported.
There are a few alternative highway all season tires in OE sizes. Consider the Michelin LTX M/S2, and General Grabber HTS60 for starters.
Continental is a proven manufacturer with a number of high quality offerings across numerous tire categories. However, they have failed to break through with a top tier option in the highway all season realm.
