Continental CrossContact LX Sport review
What is it?
The Continental CrossContact LX Sport is an all season tire engineered for sporty light trucks and SUV's
The CrossContact LX Sports puts an emphasis on highway performance, efficiency, and road manners.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Good road manners and handling, and respectable ride quality and road noise (low).
Wet traction could be improved, and winter condition performance is sorely lacking as compared to category competitors.
The "Sport" emphasis also may have adversely affected treadlife.
How does the CrossContact LX Sport compare?
Regardless of the "Sport" designation, crossover/SUV owners expect an all season tire to perform satisfactorily in snow and ice, and the CrossContact LX Sport simply does not.
Due to its deficient wintertime capabilities, and just average marks across many other evaluative metrics, the CrossContact LX Sport ranks fifteenth out of twenty tires in the crossover/SUV category per user feedback.
Anything else to know?
If you need true winter performance, the CrossContact LX Sport is not your tire.
And even snow and ice traction is not on the list of priorities, we fail to see how this Sport version of the CrossContact LX actually brings more performance to the table.
If you stay south of true winter, then consider a street/sport truck summer tire like the
Continental CrossContact UHP. Actually require all season capabilities? Then look elsewhere. The Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus is a good starting point.
Note no treadlife warranty.
