Continental HDR review
What is it?
The Continental HDR (Heavy-Duty Drive-Axle Regional) is an on-/off-road commercial traction tire designed for single and dual application use on the drive axles of medium-duty vehicles.
The HDR served as the original equipment tire for the Ford F450.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Users report excellent treadlife (> 100,000 miles in some cases), and satisfactory dry handling characteristics.
Not particularly capable in the snow.
How does the HDR compare?
Direct comparison data is lacking due to the very specific tire application. Other than the lackluster snow traction, the HDR functions as intended.
Anything else to know?
Limited sizes available due to the intended OE application.
Keep in mind that the HDR is not designed to exceed speeds of 75 mph.
