Continental Vanco-8 review
What is it?
The Continental Vanco-8 highway rib summer tire is designed for 2wd vans and trucks that require heavy duty load capacity. The Vanco-8 aims to deliver long treadlife and even wear, low road noise, high efficiency, and traction in dry and wet warm weather conditions.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Users report satisfying handling characteristics and long treadlife. Comfort characteristics are also reportedly very good.
Wet traction is adequate, but not a strong point.
Overall, the Vanco-8 accomplishes what it sets out to do and will meet most reasonable expectations.
How does the Vanco-8 compare?
The Vanco-8 has developed a very loyal following, and garnered repeat purchases. Direct comparison data is lacking, but the Vanco-8 is favored by many experienced highway rib summer customers.
Anything else to know?
Very limited sizes available.
No treadlife warranty is likely not a concern here. The Vanco-8 has proven itself to have plenty of longevity.
The Michelin XPS Rib, another very popular highway rib summer tire, is certainly worth considering as well.
Note that the Vanco-8 is truly not to be driven in winter conditions.
