Firestone Winterforce review
What is it?
The Firestone Winterforce is a snow/winter tire designed for exclusively winter use on coupes, sedans, and minivans.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Excellent overall snow performance in both light and deep snow conditions. Dry and wet condition capabilities are on par with other studdable winter/snow tires.
User data suggests that ice capabilities could be improved, as could comfort characteristics. The Winterforce is perhaps the noisiest studdable winter/snow tire option, and also doesn't deliver optimum ride quality.
How does it compare?
The comfort deficiencies in particular are responsible for the Winterforce ranking near the bottom of this very limited tire category. However, in terms of sheer snow performance the Winterforce keeps pace with contemporaries.
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: First 1/32" of wear
Anything else to know?
The Winterforce is reasonably priced, but so too are alternative studdable winter/snow tire options like the General Tire Altimax Arctic and Pirelli Winter Carving Edge.
The Winterforce is perhaps the most popular and established studdable winter/snow tire currently available, and has attracted many repeat and loyal buyers.
Install in sets of four only, or you'll be dealing with a potentially hazardous handling imbalance.
