Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 review
What is it?
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 is an extreme performance summer tire engineered for original equipment use on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Ford Shelby GT500 SVT.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Dry grip, cornering capabilities, and steering response are strong by any general measure, but nevertheless data indicates that they're short of the extreme performance summer category standard.
User feedback suggests that wet condition performance is near worst in class, as is treadlife. Comfort characteristics like ride comfort and road noise are second-worst; only the Bridgestone Potenza RE070 scores lower in these areas.
How does it compare?
Unfavorably against current extreme performance summer category competition. The Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 ranks twelfth out of twelve options per user feedback.
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: 1 year, first 2/32" of wear
Anything else to know?
Limited sizes due to the intended OE applications.
To its credit, the Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 is one of the most affordable extreme performance summer tires available. However, it's far from inexpensive, and we say that if you're spending at this level you might as well spend a little more in the interest of performance.
The Hankook Ventus R-S3 is an excellent extreme performance summer alternative that provides superior performance across the board. Treadlife with the Hankook is also much stronger, thereby negating much of the Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2's initial price advantage.
And despite the max performance summer designation, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is another very viable option for slightly more coin.
Lastly, data indicates that Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2 users are not often repeat purchasers.
