Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar review
What is it?
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar is a max performance summer tire that served as original equipment on performance vehicles like the Chevrolet Corvette C-5 Z06, Chrysler 300C SRT and Ford GT.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Dry condition grip and handling remains top tier by modern max performance summer standards.
However, data indicates that wet condition performance is a serious compromise -- rated worst in the entire tire category. Hazardous enough, according to many users, that rain driving should be avoided entirely.
Treadlife is also quite limited.
How does it compare?
Dry condition performance isn't enough anymore. Present day max performance summer tires are well rounded and capable in all warm weather conditions, including rain. Category leaders also deliver on treadlife and value.
In these areas the Eagle F1 Supercar is well behind the curve, and its user ranking reflects that -- twenty-seventh out of twenty-nine max performance summer tires.
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: 1 year, first 2/32" wear
Anything else to know?
True to its namesake, the Eagle F1 Supercar is costly. Notably more so than even the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, the current max performance summer category leader.
On a value and all-around performance basis, and unless you live in the Atacama Desert or enjoy stopping under overpasses in the rain with the bikers... the Eagle F1 Supercar is a pass in our view. Superior all-around performance, treadlife, and comfort is available at a lesser price.
