Goodyear Eagle LS-2 review
What is it?
The Goodyear Eagle LS-2 is a grand touring all season tire designed for sedans, minivans, crossovers, SUV's, and some pickup trucks. The Eagle LS-2 is the successor to the widely used, but not particularly well-liked Goodyear Eagle LS.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Much like the original Eagle LS, the Eagle LS-2 possesses decent dry handling and grip characteristics for the category, but across all other performance categories is notably below average.
Wet condition performance is just adequate, and snow/winter capabilities still fall quite short of reasonable "all season" expectations.
The Eagle LS-2 isn't a particularly comfortable tire either, with high road noise and poor ride quality as compared to the current grand touring all season class leaders.
Finally, treadlife remains somewhat limited.
How does it compare?
User feedback ranks the Eagle LS-2 thirty-first out of thirty-five grand touring all season tires. Just behind the original Eagle LS.
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: 1 year, first 2/32" wear
Anything else to know?
No treadlife warranty is a concern in light of continued customer reports of deficiency in this area.
New generation, same story with the Eagle LS-2. It's truly difficult to identify where improvements were made over this tire's predecessor, if at all.
While performance is unquestionably short of class leading options, Eagle LS-2 pricing is consistent with superior alternatives like the Bridgestone Driveguard and Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus. Even the far superior Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring is about equally priced.
You'll gain significant performance, value, and warranty with the above alternatives, among others.
We suggest you steer clear of the Eagle LS-2.
