Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season Review
What is it?
The Goodyear Eagle Sport All-Season is a high performance all season tire designed for use on sports cars, as well as performance coupes, sedans, and light trucks. Often purchased as an OE replacement and upgrade tire.
Strengths and weaknesses?
The Eagle Sport All-Season delivers strong performance in many areas.
Class leading dry condition performance and handling, as well as sufficient snow/winter capabilities.
Treadlife is also very strong.
As is the case with other Goodyear all seasons like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric, wet condition capabilities could be improved, but could not be fairly described as deficient or inadequate.
How does the Eagle Sport All-Season compare?
The Eagle Sport All-Season ranks first overall in the high performance all season tire category per (somewhat limited) user feedback.
In 2013 Tire Rack comparison testing, the Eagle Sport All-Season trailed contemporaries from Kumho, Sumitomo and Yokohama on the basis of wet condition performance.
Anything else to know?
Other than just adequate wet condition performance, the potential problem with the Eagle Sport All-Season is that it doesn't hold a pricing advantage over excellent ultra high performance all season contemporaries. The Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06, BF Goodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S and General G-Max AS-03 can be had for about the same price. All of these options hold an overall performance advantage over the Eagle Sport All-Season (V-Speed Rated), and come with effectively equal treadlife warranties.
So why the Eagle Sport All-Season? It likely holds a small edge in both comfort qualities and true winter performance.
