Yokohama ADVAN A11A review
What is it?
The Yokohama ADVAN A11A is a high performance summer tire designed for performance-oriented coupes, sedans, and sports cars. Served as the original equipment tire for the Mazda Miata.
Advan A11A strengths and weaknesses?
Commendable dry traction and handling dynamics, as well as sufficient wet condition performance.
The ADVAN A11A also delivers excellent ride quality and relatively low road noise.
Treadlife is strong.
How does it compare?
In the very limited high performance summer tire category, the ADVAN A11A ranks first out of two options per user feedback. Its real competition, however, can be found in the ultra high performance summer category where it faces both performance and value challenges (more information below).
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: First 2/32" of wear
Anything else to know?
Very limited 16" sizes due to the intended OE application.
Original equipment tax has been applied here. While the ADVAN A11A delivers adequate performance, it's not by any measure a performance standout. The problem is, it's priced like one...
Summer performance alternatives like the BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 and Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 offer unquestionably superior performance for notably less money. The ADVAN A11A doesn't hold any performance, comfort, or treadlife/treadwear advantage over such options. Even the Yokohama S.drive is some $200 less per set than the ADVAN A11A in the OE Miata size.
On a performance: value basis, we suggest that you consider alternatives to the ADVAN A11A.
