Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT review
What is it?
The Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT (DSST = Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology) is an extreme performance summer tire engineered for original equipment use on the Nissan GTR. Features run flat technology.
Strengths and weaknesses?
Excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, as would be expected of an OE GTR tire.
Don't expect to experience typical OE tire treadlife, or comfort characteristics.
How does the SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT compare?
Direct comparison data is lacking, but look no further than the GTR's world class lap times to validate this Dunlop's performance capabilities.
Anything else to know?
Major OE tax in play here. You'll be looking at just shy of $2,000 for a set of the SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT.
Another extreme performance summer run flat, the Bridgestone Potenza RE070R R2 RFT, is about $200 cheaper per set.
Willing to forego run flat convenience/security? Check out the Hankook Ventus R-S3 for about $700 less per set in OE GTR sizing. If you're asking us, we'll take the R-S3 on a sheer performance vs performance basis too.
