Firestone Destination A/T review
What is it?
The Firestone Destination A/T is an all terrain tire designed for SUV's, pickups, and vans requiring four season performance, as well as on- and off-road capability.
Destination A/T strengths and weaknesses?
Excellent dry and wet condition performance, and well above average snow/winter capabilities. The Destination A/T also provides class-leading comfort characteristics with appealing road manners and limited road noise.
Treadlife is also strong, but may not quite match other top tier on-/off-road all-terrain options.
How does the Destination A/T compare?
According to user feedback, only the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 ranks ahead of the Destination A/T in the on-/off-road all terrain tire category, and that's on the basis of sheer performance. But what the Destination A/T lacks in outright performance it arguably makes up for in value (see below).
Anything else to know?
The aforementioned BF Goodrich option will run you over $200 more per set in a common 17" size. Same story for the impressive Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar.
Much like the Firestone Destination LE 2 highway all season tire, the Destination A/T is one of the most ideal options in its tire category when taking both cost and performance into consideration. Highly recommended.
At the Firestone Destination A/T price point, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, Kumho Road Venture AT51, and Nitto Terra Grappler G2 are top-level all-terrain tires also worth considering.
