Kumho Ecsta V710 review
What is it?
The Kumho Ecsta V710 is a racetrack and autocross tire engineered for sports cars, and performance-oriented coupes and sedans. The Ecsta V710 delivers maximum traction and performance for the purposes of autocross, timed competition events, and track days (HPDE).
As a racetrack and autocross only tire, the Ecsta V710 exceeds the grip levels provided by extreme performance summer options, but sacrifices all wet road capabilities, as well as public road suitability, and longevity (treadlife).
Strengths and weaknesses?
Significant dry condition grip and capability that rival the esteemed Hoosier A6 and R6.
Treadlife is similar to the Hoosier options as well; that is to say, limited.
Wet condition capabilities are non-existent, and pricing isn't a strong point (more on this below).
How does it compare?
Users rank the Ecsta V710 second overall out of five racetrack & autocross category options.
Ecsta V710 users are often repeat buyers, and user satisfaction is excellent. If it weren't for the superior comfort and durability of the Hankook Ventus Z214, the Ecsta V710 would be the top category option. If you're looking for ultimate traction, it's the Ecsta V710 or the aforementioned Hoosiers.
- Treadlife Warranty: None
- Uniformity Warranty: None
- Workmanship and Materials Warranty: None
Anything else to know?
The high user satisfaction is in spite of the Ecsta V710's significant price tag. Kumho is known for affordable tire options that deliver sufficient performance. With the Ecsta V710 Kumho has instead delivered maximum performance at a steep price.
There is no doubt the Ecsta V710 is a legitimate Hoosier alternative at an equal price. Just be ready to pay dearly for cutting out a few tenths from your previous best...
If you live in an area that experiences true winter, be sure to store the Ecsta V710 inside, or within an environment that is >32 degrees Fahrenheit.
